Provide detailed information about how the teaching assistant needs to adapt their approach to promoting positive behaviour according to the age or developmental stage of a pupil e.g. reward systems need to be different if they are to have the same positive effect - stickers for younger children and table points or reward board for older children.

Similarly sanctions need to be age/stage appropriate eg sad face on white board with their name, missing a minute of/whole of playtime, writing name on consequence board.

Use of verbal praise needs to be adapted according to the age/stage of the child, as does postive body language eg thumbs up, high five, pat on the back, round of applause etc... Hope this helps!
