CYP 3.3 5.3 Explain how to support a child and their family when bullying is suspected or alleged

Hi

Am I on the right track regarding this question, I have put the following:-

It would be distressing for any child who has been bullied and they may feel anxious in discussing it.
The best way to support the child is to make them aware that they are doing the right thing in telling someone about the bullying they are receiving. To offer support and take into consideration how hard it must have been for them to tell someone. To praise the child for being brave enough to discuss the incidents that have occurred.
From the parents point of view they may also be feeling distressed, angry and unsettled to hear that their child has been bullied. The best way to support the parent is to reassure them that your priority is to safeguard their child and that you will take their concerns/complaint seriously. Explain how you will investigate the complaint and always keep them up to date with any progress made.
If the parent feels that they want to gain further knowledge on dealing with a child who has been bullied you could refer them to the following websites:-

Antibullying.Net
Kidscape.org/uk
Parentline Plus
NSPCC
Been at this for a while and getting confiused now
Do I need to put more info on how to support the child/parent
Many thanks
Shell
