Default Why is it important to treat people fairly and not to discriminate?

Hi, the title is the question,,, just want to know if i'm along the right lines.. this is what i have so far..

It is important to treat people fairly and not discriminate against them as everybody is different and they should be treated as individuals.
We shouldn't assume about anybody.. People have rights by law and if we don't treat them fairly, this is breaking the law and we could be punished. ( Treat people as you would want to be treated yourself.

Discrimination can result in low self-esteem and low confidence and could affect people in the long term as well as the short term.
Some people may become angry and aggressive, others, depressed and withdrawn.

Treating people fairly and not discriminating makes them feel respected and valued, which in turn makes them feel good about themselves.

Sounds good maybe also include how not discriminating encourages people's participation, invitation and inclusion.

Preventing discrimination on Businesslink is good. The question 'what if these people were discriminated against/treated unfairly, how would they feel, what would they do, what skills, personalities, opinions, views and attitudes could our organisation potentially miss out on' weighed against what your setting aims to provide for children, families and the community helps to show the impact treating people unfairly & discriminating could have.
