unit 065 - please help!!

i am stuck on unit 065 -
what is the legal status of The Foundation Phase and how do you use national and local guidance materials in your setting?
i have completed the rest of the unit but stuck on this last question and my tutor coming in the morning!!
any help will be greatly appreciated

Hi, you need to read the framework - Welsh Foundation Phase

The second page overview mentions the Education Act 2002 and the sections of law that it's governed by. Page 2 states the implementation dates where the framework becomes a 'legal requirement'

Page 4s curriculum information includes the words 'statutory curriculum framework'. Collectively that provides you with the wording to explain its current legal status xx


You will also need to ask your setting or placement which national and local guidance materials they use. There are some listed on this page guidance materials and area of learning publications .

You may find your local council/authority provides materials eg. forms, documents that helps the setting implement the foundation phase framework.

The original poster little emz works in Wales, if you work in England please use the EYFS framework and not the Foundation phase documents that are on the other side of the links above xx
