Default principles and values/level 3

Heya this is my first post and im ashamed to be asking for help but I intend to stay here thoughout the course and hopefully help others if need be.
Ive just started my level three childcare and early years but im not doing it at college its all done through work where my tutor comes to visit.
Anyhow because its done this way and not with a room full of other people to bounce stuff off im finding it quite hard.
Here is my first question..im not wanting any answers just a quick pointer or example would be great. It says ''think of a particular situation when you were able to treat children, their families, young people and their carers with respect''.
Now I do not know if it means all of these or just one as its just laid out on paper like that.
Any help would be great thank you xxx

Hi, a very warm welcome in and please dont worry, the ashamed word is banned .

A few ideas ..

Think of times where your understanding has been challenged and yet you've appreciated all views differ and that that is valuable in itself - how did you deal with it all ensuring you didn't make judgements, accusations, ridicule or make light of things.

Complaints are all given for a reason whether appropriate or found to be inappropriate, how would the situation be dealt with.

Times where behaviour causes concern or intervention. How was this dealt with and explained to ensure the child's protection, impartiality and fairness.

Times where bereavement has caused upset, respect and sensitivity has been given - death of a family member, pet, plant or .. disappointment, times where a holiday, trip, visit, other purchase has fallen through or been cancelled and how this impacts on individual expectations, how you help them to work through, bridging those feelings and work towards new ..

I hope this helps, please enjoy the site. Look forward to hearing how things go xx

When children and their families come to look around/or start at your setting, you will be treating them with respect whatever their culture/religion/belief or special needs.

Your setting will have Inclusion, Diversity and Equality Policies for you to follow.
