Hiya, did you ever complete this question? I have the same one and I just cannot think!!

Ive come up with these points below but I think where im so brain dead they may not be right!

• Supporting parents can make them feel confident helping their child’s SLC needs positively & confidently
• Providing effective support with advise, guidance and plans etc will let the parents build their own confidence to use that support given
• Supporting parents with their child’s SLC will able them to understand their child when they communicate and what they can do to support and progress their development
• Both parent and child working together can support each other’s own needs and wants
• Helping to guide parents through their children’s development will help the parent to be able to understand their child and how they should approach each situation e.g. some child get frustrated if they cannot express how they feel, a child may also have unnecessary behaviour due to the parents not understanding them

Whoop whoop - yayy Unit 099

In answer to your question, I havent completed it yet however my assessor did give me some pointers on how to answer the questions;

1.2; Research Parenting Styles - Then write about these
1.3; How will supporting parents influence children - this links in with their behaviour
2.1; What things affect the children's relationship with their parents - e.g. time, confidence, parents may have SLCN
2.3; Ways to help parents help their children - for example in my setting we do storybags, letter boxes, advice on activities, leaflets, drop in sessions
3.2; Ways to support parents on how to use activities - e.g. leaflets, displays, makaton (THIS ALSO LINKS IN WITH 2.3)
3.3; Make a judgement of how we can help children by supporting parents - consistency, repour, relationships
4.1; is all about consistency
4.2; ICAN is a good website to use for this question.
4.3; consistency using professionals & specialists like speech thepists.

I hope this helps it has help me :jump:
