Help SOS Analyse how children’s learning and development can be affected by their stage of development.

I'm a little bit stuck on how to answer this fully. I've got a few examples but I know it's not enough.
Any help would be appreciated

Hi

I have just answered and had very similar question accepted on this.

I started by explaining what was meant by a childs development - so something that happens by nature - different rates for individual children etc and explaining that "learning" is provoked by someone or something - i.e. it is learnt or taught.

I was told to talk about Jean Piagets theory of cognitive development, which basically states a child needs to attain a certain level of development before future learning opportunities can be made. He believed there were 4 stages of development and that children had to pass through each consecutive stage of development in order (If you google him - you can read about his research)

I then had to look at either the EYFS or the National Curriculum looking at what it expects children to learn and analyse how this might be unrealistic if the child had not reached a desired level of development. (i.e. can't teach a child to run who has not yet learnt to walk - very simplified example but I am sure you have more relevant ideas etc)

Not sure if you have been told to mention the same - so sorry if this doesn't help you at all.
