CYPOP 1 Learning Outcome 1.1

This is the task I have to do:

1.1 Explain the pattern of development in the first three years of life and the skills typically acquired at each stage.

I have been told that I can include this in my timeline that I have done for another assignment and my tutor will cross reference it. However, I don't understand the task at all.

Could anyone give me any guidance at all about how I could complete this task. If I am correct, the pattern of development is that a child will crawl before they can walk and walk before they can run. I'm not sure how to do this task.

If anyone could help me I will be extremely grateful.

this is what i wrote for this assignment:
1.1 explain the pattern of development in the first three years of life and the skills typically acquired at each stage.

0-1yrs:
In the first year, babies learn to focus on their vision, explore and learn about the things around them. Learning language is more than making sounds (“babble”). Listening, understanding and knowing the names of people and things that are all part language development. During this stage babies are developing bands and trusts with their parents and others as part of social and emotional development.

1-2yrs:
During the second year, toddlers are moving around more, they are also aware of themselves and surroundings. During this stage toddles will show greater independence, recognize themselves in a picture/mirror, imitate others behaviours especially adults and older children. Toddlers will also be able to recognize the names of familiar people and objects, form simple phrases/sentences and follow simple directions/actions.

2-3yrs:
Skills such as taking turns, playing make believe, and kicking a ball. This stage is often known as the terrible twos. However this can be exiting for certain people. Toddlers will experience huge thinking, learning, social, and emotional changes will help them explore their new world and make sense of it. This stage the toddlers will be able to follow 2-3 step directions, sort object by shape and color, imitate actions of adults and playmates, and express a wide range of emotions.

should help a bit :)
