Default New babies and gifts for older Children

if you go and visit some one who has just had a baby REMEMBER take a small present for the other children in the family.I usually say baby asked me to get it for them or something like that. This way they dont feel left out or get jealous.

I'm a Registered Childminder and when 2 of my "mindies" were expecting a new sibling I made up a Babies storysack. I sorted through all my books , had a sack made up on ebay, put some baby clothes in it, a doll, a bottle, dummy etc, and made up some games featuring babies :-)

When my sis in law had her baby boy they gave his older sister a present which they said was from the new baby. When she opened it she had got a baby boy of her own. it was called Lewis just as her new baby brother is and came with bottle and clothes. she loves getting her baby out. It's especially good when mum is trying to feed lewis because she can get her baby out and do the same. this means she doesnt require attention all the time mums feeding.
