Default what can I do for my observations for unit 6 promoting children's and young people's behaviour

Hi,
I wondered if anyone has done the observations I unit 6 promote childrens and young peoples positive behaviour. Its quite difficult when you donT deal with challenging behaviour on a regular basis.
Thanks xx

Hi welcome to silkysteps. This is more to do with what happens to promote positive behaviour rather than manage or deal with incidents of extreme or otherwise challenging behaviour.

Behavioural theory links to this via positive & negative reinforcement, eg. reward charts, praise, consequences. Social learning theory examples role modelling and how you might observe adults and other children being calm, using their body language as well as their verbal/sign language during times of conflict which can be occasions where there's 1 toy with 2 children wanting it, pushing & line jumping on a climbing frame's steps/ladder, a child takes time to show you/another adult child what they're doing - how does that person respond & react?

The observation book is supportive reading if you can access a copy - on amazon

Best wishes xx
