Default UCAS Points for Diploma CYP - Steps to HE

Hello

I was wondering if any one had contacted UCAS or CWDC about where learners stand once they have achieved their Diplomas.

I don't think the new UCAS tariff will be ready untill 2012????

If it doesn't attract enough points if any, I will need to do an access course, as u can imagine Im not getting any younger, so at two years part time I'd be wanting to get started this September!!!

Thoughts suggestions and ideas welcome!!!
And yes I am an eager beaver lol:rotfl:

they haven't decided yet but i am rarely impressed and to be honest avoid taking on learners is a rush. education is about reflection, expanding your experience and EVERYONE has plenty of time. if i gt a degree application where someone has built their experience in steps and with a clear progression i am much more likely to take them and nearly always take access learners. I doubt very much the DCYPW is going to be enough for a degree we are offering a levels with it and FS. for those with lots of experience they are applying for uni thro ucas and are getting interviews not auto offers.
remember your eagerness to achieve may be perceived by others as lack of application and as an indicator of attitude on the degree course. ALSO if you havent done academic work at A level before then the access course or an academic writing course is crucial. unis lose something like 40% of students the first term as they have no idea how to write, research etc and lose the will to live in the first assignments. my eldest degree learner is 48, if she has the time so does everyone else.

I should be ok with experience, I'm interested in a social work degree, I have been working alongside families from deprived areas for 2 years now. I'm also a Homestart volunteer too.

Is the DCYPW replacing the BTEC Level 3 National Award, Certificate and Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development because these qualifications carry enough points for the odd university, particularly in one close to me!!!

I’ve got the English and in the process of obtaining maths.

Big challenge going to uni but I guess you will never know until you try!!!!
