Unit 307 Support assessment for learning

Hi, I'm new to this site and currently doing my Level 3 Diploma in Supporting teaching and Learning in Schools.

Can anyone help with unit 307 outcomes 3.1, 3.2 and 3.4d. My assessor has not been able to observe me doing this so says I can write a reflective account to cover these. I'm struggling to get my head round the wording of these. The teacher I work with says I do this all the time without realising.

Can anyone help me get started.

Many thanks

Hi, a warm welcome to silkysteps.

This thread may help with writing a reflective account. It sounds like your teacher is aware of your role in the assessment process, is it possible you can ask them to help identify the times assessment accurs?
eg. record keping and how you use what you already know about child's learning to support new learning, strategies and how you interact with individual children differently to suppot unique learning needs, deployment - where you go to be with the children during times of learning, how you engage and invite other children to examine learning together, how you share outcomes - achievments and guidance for changes, the time you give to help children reflect on thier learning, how you share observations about the knowledge children had and what they know now. Identifying learning needs will depend on the child, what you're covering and what you're using to record it

This unit from C&G might be helpful reading - Unit 307 Support assessment for learning

Quote:
3 To be able to support learners in reviewing their learning strategies
and achievements, you must show that you can:

3.1 Use information gained from monitoring learner participation and progress to help learners to review their learning strategies, achievements and future learning needs

3.2 Listen carefully to learners and positively encourage them to communicate their needs and ideas for future learning

3.3 Support learners in using peer assessment and self-assessment to evaluate their learning achievements

3.4 Support learners to:
a reflect on their learning
b identify the progress they have made
c identify their emerging learning needs
d identify the strengths and weaknesses of their learning strategies and plan how to improve them.
Best wishes xx

Hi, to prepare for the literacy development unit you're best placed to use your setting's literacy policy, the curriculum subject information for the relevant key stages that you work with, any planning the teacher can offer you, knowledge regarding the daily/weekly practice for literacy and page 205+ of the handbook - TDA 3.11

Best wishes xx
