for this you would need to refer to your settings policies and procedures in my setting we would approach our early years advisor who would then approach the person who involved who comes out to assess and observe the child whilst all the time keeping the parents involved. In the school they have a senco co ordinator who initially assesses the child and then refers them to whichever agencies the child may need to be involved with to help their development
