Don't let your dog near Chocolate !

Not many people consider the effects Easter and the hoards of chocolate can have on a dog's senses !!!!

The towers of tempting foil wrapped 'bliss' ... but, there is a very serious edge to this indulgent holiday ..... the possibility of theft !!

Apart from having to deal with the hysterical cries from a distraught child who may be witness to the demise of their easter egg by their Dog :bomb: ... Chocolate is actually poisonous to canines!!

The Dog's Trust website has a full article on theobromine the chemical ingredient in cocoa that poisons...

Although the most likely cause of poisoning from theobromine will occur if a dog has access to pure Cocoa powder or has the opportunity to chew cocoa based mulch whilst out in the garden, it is a very wise precaution to keep all human chocolate out of thier way.

Whenever possible, avoid the tit bit treats fed to your dog by others who may not realise the dangers of it, and let your children know about this hidden danger , even the youngest child will quickly learn not to feed chocolate to thier dog, if they know it could give them a 'tummy ache'.

and now I know why dog chocolate tastes so foul ... umm.. so i've been told *lol*

Have a wonderful woof safe Easter !!
