Hiya,

Not quite sure if this is what's being asked but on the surface the necessity to 'prove quality of provision via evidencing does seem to be ever growing !!

Everything that's written down from a copy of the basic curriculum framework to in house photographs of tadpoles are all evidencing practice - as is a shelf full of activity ideas & resources !!

The need is controversial.

It enables groups to reassure concerned, interested and curious Parents and also to provide statistical data. Build links in and with the community and assure regulatory bodies of competence levels.
Finiding out who collates, where and what it's used for and again where it is distributed can bring other reasons for its initial collection into any debate or further development.

Photograph documentation of the Children ( children's own and/or parental permission for this may vary place to place) feedback forms - Correspondance between Parents, Committee, Children, Ofsted - action plans for all areas. Certificates of qualifications, Observations, evaluations, record keeping, planning and profiling.

Polices, procedures, documents and case studies for best practice, minutes of meetings, risk assessments, external agency recommendations - fire drill, equipment, advice and guidance.

How it all impacts individually .. Time

How evidence assists with self development and knowledge.
What the knock on effect from learning about evidencing has personally & as a group & what / how it informs everyones practice.
How your evidencing can later influence and highlight awareness for other practitioners.
How is relevant information / evidence linked to certin areas of responsibility and what the possible effects may be - physical evidence can reduce the need to verbally comunicate it can also backup and reassure or maybe call into question of and for the reasons why everyone does / did it in the first place - other areas can include: initiatives, programmes, projects, consultations, surveys - development theories, learning objectives ...

again, there is sure to be lots more ... hth a little

Let us know what else you find ..

xx
