Are you worried about the safety of your children on the roads? With the clocks going back on Saturday 27th October, more and more children will be making journeys to and from school in darker conditions. It’s particularly important at this time of year when children are less visible that we do everything we can to improve their safety on the roads.
Thankfully, there are strategies you can employ in order to keep your kids away from danger.
In 2001 Nationwide launched the Cats’ Eyes for Kids programme when 6m reflectors were distributed to UK primary schools-one for each child.
Since then 1m reflectors have been distributed each year-one for every new intake pupil. UK child pedestrian casualties have fallen by 51% since the programme started and Nationwide has pledged to give free reflectors to every new intake child until 2010.
Find out how this scheme can help your child stay safe throughout the winter months by watching our free Web TV show on road safety for children. It will give you the opportunity to find out the best ways to keep your child safe when they are near any traffic.
