Hi, how does your setting / placement involve your families?

Does your setting ask for information that identifies a religion?

Do you chat with prospective parents / existing parents about observances that the nursery would like to be aware of, what information is collected that may identify a religion and culture - enrolement form, dietary needs, festival participation / non participation, expectations.

Bringing these views into the setting can involve ways such as welcoming and greeting everyone in the morning - collection time. Do you make time to let parents know you are available for discussing concerns/news/views whenever they want?

Do you send out newsletters, ask for feedback, let parents know you'll be introducing/covering festivals, cultural obsevances, dress, traditions, foods, campaigns or awareness activities that they might be able to help with - by providing knowledge, information, resources, paticipation in the event.

How does your book shelf reflect cultural views and opinion and how are parents and children able to access these titles, express preferences maybe.

What other home communications do you have in place and meetings/events that enable parents to input/request information.

Hth
