23 July. Alkincoates Woodland LNR Clean Up. Open to everyone although children should be accompanied by an adult. Suitable footwear for woodland paths which can be muddy. Some footpaths have been reinforced to provide wheelchair access – ask at marquee or contact organiser for details. Necessary equipment supplied and group members will accompany attendees. Alkincoates Woodland Local Nature Reserve, Colne. Meet at the marquee adjacent to rugby club car park. From end of M65 turn left onto Vivary Way, ahead at the traffic lights to the roundabout. Take first exit left onto Harrison Drive, continue to the top going straight across at the next roundabout. Road forks right up to the rugby club car park.

23 July. Alkincoates Woodland LNR Nature Trail. A guided walk covering bird identification, wildflowers and pond life. Experienced walk leaders will identify birds by sight and sound, identify wildflowers along the route and there will be an opportunity to pond dip to examine the diversity living in this environment.
