Hiya, no one wants to make decisions that could be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of a child or family.

Rushed decisions, uninformed, ill-judged decisions can all result from a lack of evidence or lack of appropriate evidence and training.

Policies and procedures should help guide awareness of issues surrounding abuse and provide ways in which to record events & concerns.

Worried about a child from the NSPCC website 4 types/areas of abuse from the BBC. You can also research information regarding unfounded, unsubstatiated, false accusations and allegations.

These links aren't related as such to what your asking sorry but are good reads - 2005 edition managing the aftermath of unfounded unsubstatiated allegations against staff from teachernet, displacement from changingminds.org and Flow chart for refferal from Teachernet publications.

Hth, a warm welcome to silkysteps
