I have done this. Children learn and develop in different ways and at difference rates. All areas of learning and development are interconnected. Children need to learn to use a spoon before they can feed themselves. They need to learn new skills such as hand eye coordination and fine motor skills. Some aspects of development follow a sequnce such as a baby has to be able to lift their head up before they can sit up. A toddler has to learn to walk before they can run. Hope this helps.
