Hi, I've done this unit and had it signed off. I wrote about the attitudes of both the parents and the practitioners, and how negative attitudes can be barriers:

Parents - see setting as just childcare, nothing more; don't understand importance of own role in child's development; don't speak to practitioners, so miss out on info/advice etc; think that they don't need to do anything at home, pre-school/school etc for teaching; "I know my child best" - won't listen to advice/concerns from setting;

Practitioners: negative personal views on race/religion/culture/background etc (parents could also have same view of practitioners); can't be bothered doing extra things for parents, don't have time; not trying to engage with parents; don't agree with how parents treat/teach their child; not engaging with fathers - don't see them as important as mother.

Hope that helps!
