Hi glad you made it in okay xx

You need to show that you know what type of records are present in your setting, what the fields are on those forms, how you fill them i- pen or digital? and why you need to do that - compliance with mandatory standards.

This may all be something you'll discuss with your assessor when they next visit for a workplace observation? or write it down if that's what you're expected to do.

Page 119 of this EYE handbook looks at accidents, incidents, injuries, signs of illness and other emergencies. Search the 'look inside' feature on amazon.co.uk using the words recording accidents and click to page 119

and page 156 of this EYE handbook looks at the importance of keeping records and how to do so - search inside for the word legible and click to page 156

Quote from page 11:
Completing records
All accidents, incidents and emergencies have to be record accurately. This is important because serious accidents and incidents also have to be reported to inspectorates and agencies, such as Ofsted or the Health and Safety Executive, who will investigate further. In the case of accidents, parents also need to know what happened and so many early years settings will report any injury, however minor, to parents.

Most forms require the following information:
  • time and date of accident/incident/emergency
  • details of accident/incident/emergency including the names of those injured
  • how the accident/incident/emergency was responded to and by whom
  • name and signature of the person reporting the accident/incident/ emergency

Can you ask your setting for blank copies of their forms as evidence?

The feeling that you're repeating yourself means you might be writing too much detail in other criteria xx

Hope this helps

Best wishes
