If you have no physical way of visiting other settings I would suggest writing a letter introducing who you are what you are doing and why. Then ask the questions, requesting a personal visit or an email/conversation with the manager/senior staff members.

Knowing what the EYFS requires in those areas will give insight as to how childcare provisions should be providing those features.
As an example, the EYFS states:

Food and drink
3.47. Where children are provided with meals, snacks and drinks, they must be healthy,
balanced and nutritious
look into this, how does the setting approach this, where is the advice coming from (NHS services? somewhere else?)

We provide fresh water at all times, available from a fountain and also with jugs and cups, the children are also allowed should they wish to bring in their own water bottles (which should only include water in unison with the school policies on this)


I hope that is of some help.
Maybe you could make a survey online and post it in various relative places/forums for more input.
