how to challenge discrimination in a way that promotes change. Consider which of those actions you feel you practice in the setting and ones you could adopt in the future.

- by working within the policies and procedures of the setting
- valuing the child
- developing and sustaining a child-centred approach
- engaging actively with the family to appreciate the holistic/whole needs of the child
- provide an inclusive environment which actively welcomes diversity
- being a positive role model in promoting equality, diversity and inclusive practice
- be able to recognise discrimination
- know when how and why you need to challenge discrimination
- engage in effective partnership working to enable the child to achieve a best outcome
