In the spirit of Crimbo, I've re-written an old favourite......(here we go!)

Rudolph Was A Reindeer

Rudolph was a reindeer,
His nose was shiny red,
He had a pair of antlers
That sat upon his head.
Rudolph’s tail was fuzzy,
His pelt was golden brown,
When Santa came, in trouble,
He couldn’t let him down.
Christmas Eve was here again
But with it came the fog,
Santa couldn’t find his way
Through all that cloudy smog.
“Rudolph’s the solution,
With his nasal light,”
Said Santa to the reindeer,
“He may well save the night!”
“So Rudolph’s favourite, once again!”
The herd of reindeer grumbled,
“He should be ‘Rudolph brown-nose!”
A jealous member mumbled.
As Santa got his sleigh ready
It was packed by elves
The resentful deer’s solution
Was found among themselves.
The herd decided to pull back
To make poor Rudolph late,
They didn’t care about the kids
Upon this special date.
The time was near and Santa called
The reindeer to be saddled,
The selfish team were thinking
“St Nick’s brain must be addled!”
All fastened up in their pairs were
Donner, Vixen, Prancer,
Cupid, Blitzen, Comet,
Dasher, Rudolph, Dancer.
When they took off, the reindeer flew
But held a little back,
Santa thought it was quite strange
And reined in all the slack.
But still the sleigh did not gain speed,
In fact it seemed to slow,
Said Santa “Rudolph hurry up,
Or else you’ll have to go!”
Rudolph replied “Suit yourself.”
And then unhooked his bridle,
And Santa saw it for himself
The other 8 were idle!
“Rudolph won’t you please come back?
You’ll make the children cry!
I’ll make that lazy team work hard,
Or turn them into pie!”
“Okay,” said Rudolph warily,
“But first I have to say,
It’s not my fault my nose is bright,
I was born this way!”
Then how the reindeer liked him,
Oh, they jumped around with glee!
But they were only nice to Rudolph
To stop from being served for tea!

Not really child-friendly, but I thought you lot'd enjoy it!!
