Hi, try page 128 of the heinemann handbook or look for 'resilience' in your handbook index xx

Promote is about how you can use your knowledge to ensure well-being, safety and resilience is always cared for and of importance in your practice.

Factors that affect wellbeing & resilience are:

• Attachment
• Relationships
• Emotional security
• Health
• Self esteem
• Diet
• Exercise
• Rest and sleep
• Prompt medical/dental attention when needed
• Preventive health programmes
from the SCMP2 unit - although units have different reference numbers depending on your awarding body.

Promoting involves ..
How you ensure and let others know how secure attachments are made and continued
How the child knows it is loved, valued and respected
How balanced their sense of self and personal identity is
How you support how indepentantly they feel able they're able to act
and how you provide opportunities to build their confidence in trying new things
How you feel about risk assessment and how you pass that on for children to begin their own ways of assessing risk - not getting enough rest or sleep, toothache and how to tell someone ..
