k2d71 ~ One of the most commons signs of insecurity & anxiety in young children is crying, & so they will seek comfort from a caring adult. other signs are clinging to paents, loss of appetite, sleeping problems and not wanting to try and take part in new experiences. older children may need to discuss their anxieties in confidence away from others. to reduce anxiety they may need a comforter which the child can gradually be weaned off of, can be distracted by an activity which is calm, such as reading and a clear explanation about what is going to happen.
