Dealing with conflict with another professional?????
 

I've got to write a reflective account or statement about how I would deal with a conflict with an outside professional. NO idea what to write! I havn't any experience of thsi myself and can't think of any examples! HELP!!!!

A good start to resolving conflicts is to imagine a scenario such as two members of staff wanting the same holiday dates.
Think about how you might deal with it.
Tips:
Don't take sides- be objective
Listen to each persons argument calmly without interrupting or agreeing/disagreeing
Ask the 2 staff members to meet with yourself as arbitrator,
Ask them if they can resolve this situation themselves
If not make some suggestions (think about these before the meeting)
If no agreement can be reached then you must make the decision giving your reasons (you will need to arrange another meeting so as to give yourself time to think about the situation)
Hopefully during this time the argument may have been resolved
But the important thing is to llearn from the incident and put procedures in place in case of a recurrence.
