hi im new to this forum. i am having a professional discussion tomorrow with my assessor and just totally baffled by what she wants. If anybody could help me

How you involve local community groups in the setting and how you are able to provide information about these services to others using or visiting your setting?

How your setting ensures that information regarding equality f access to children and families is addressed especially to those people who find it hard to access your setting?

How you plan for childrens needs drawing on available resources and support services?

ok i covered something like this in one of my units (i don't have them just now they are with my assessor), see if I can remember

I set up a community board at my setting and named it 'our local community', I then added lots of leaflets about what was available at the school and locally. I took a photo of that and wrote a reflective account on it.

Does your school have a newsletter? if not suggest that you may set one up, and that you could put some community details on that letter, suggest that it may be in different languages, using either an online translator, or one of the parents of the EAL group you most have in your setting. (even if you only have 1 child, you would put this in).

Be prepared to answer questions that your assessor will give you, if she asks you a 'who would you go to' questions ,it is not neccessary that you have the name of that person, just the knowledge of where you would go to get it.

lastly - relax, she is not there to trip you up, she want's to get you through this as much as you want to get through it, it's not a test, just a chat (although it does feel alittle like an interview lol)
