christmas display
 

I really want to do a nice display with my pre schoolers. Having difficulty coming up with an idea this year. I normally do santa letters or a snowy scene but was wanting to involve the children more this year and use a variety of textured resources. Would anyone have any ideas they could share?

We usually do an advent calender. This year the children will be sponge painting a Christmas tree, and drawing pictures to go on baubles (instead of behind doors), which will be turned over.
Another display is "dear Santa" - with the children writing letters (whether they form recognisable letters or not)

Neither of these are mine though so I might not have it completely right, what it is the girls are doing!
Cotton wool snowmen are always a favourite with the children, with material cut up for scarves. Not very creative though, when all the children end up with almost identical results. But they do enjoy it!

Great idea, you could also lay out a huge sheet - bedding or paper and have the children wellie stomp with white painted soles all over it as the backing. Maybe have glitter pots ready to add texture and sparkle to the paint as it dries.

We usually try and do a big 'wintery' background - I like the idea of the welly stomping!_ then add trees, snowmen anything christmasy as the children create them.

Thank you all for your ideas. They are great. I would normally do snowmen and a big scene with tinfoil for ice, was just stuck for different ideas this year. The children are always involved i think i just wanted them to be able to use different resources.

A few other scenes you could look at are Rudolphs stable, a sack of gifts/toys, Santa's washing line, use a Christmas rhyme or carol, tinsel, Christmas food ..
