Help anyone with good ideas!!!

hello anyone,

I have just started my level 4 and am trying to think of an area of practice to research and develop within my setting, any ideas would be gratefull.

One girl done healthy eating and fittness, but I would rather not do the same?

To make this useful to you and your setting you need to have a good look at your setting and then think of an area you would like to improve and then go from there. This way not only does it help your NVQ but also improves your practice and your setting which is what this unit is all about.

Why not discuss it at a staff meeting and get ideas from your colleagues?

Hope that helps

yes, but what area's, would say music and dance cover it?

id do play because then you can look at the diff types of play-co operative etc. child led, learning through play and areas of play-physical play etc and why play is important-frobell, maria montessori, margret mc millon, also you could look at play by younger children compared to older and talk about differentiation, what works best structured or non structured etc

I nearly did this unit but then changed my mind at the last min and did another - I was going to do the importance of outdoor play - looking at the new 'forest schools'. You need to have something that you can look at improving in your setting as this will make it easier to tie into your nvq

Hiya, I would think music and dance would be good, are you able to check with your tutor on a chosen area before putting time and effort in ?

A few other title ideas ... maybe ..

Unit 402: Support policies, procedures and practice to safeguard children and ensure their inclusion and well-being
Musical resources and inclusive practice.
Dance and movement: international interest
Safeguarding Children through diversity in practice - an outdoor trip. The day Grandad came to play, Our pet goldfish, How we put in an access ramp, Who cuts the grass..
How working in partnership effects practice.
Role play and our dressing up box
Mix and Match - constructional play
Building bookshelf interest
Fundraising for a Preschool campaign
Nuts, bolts and drills
Baby dolls and Teddy bears

Do you have something in the setting that you specifically enjoy eg storytime, snack, cooking, aspects of outdoor play, particular toys/resources, risk assessments or administration. If you involve and ask colleagues about your idea I'm sure they'll be able to help pinpoint what has & hasn't been done, how policies & procedures support it happening and how things can maybe adapt ..

Hope this helps, let us know what you decide on

xx
