A few Activity ideas...
 

A few years ago, we decided as a group to hold a 'Headlice awareness day'!

These are some of the activities we all enjoyed together .. and apart from some horrified initial looks .. from adults!!! ... we had terrific fun!!!

:ladybug: Baby dolls in the water tray with cups, combs & brushes. a couple of empty shampoo bottles (just for squirting :D )

:ladybug: A smelly, feely activity with shampoo and conditioners. smell and smear them over sheets of paper (watch for sensitive skins with this activity).

:ladybug: Bubble blowing, Fill some shallow pots with water and shampoo, put them onto large trays and add straws and children :cheerful: We tried to blow/build the highest tower of bubbles!

:ladybug: black outline sheets for colouring and markmaking activities

:ladybug: At group time we had a relevant story and a chat about 'itchy heads'

This was just a basic Q&A time where the children found out that it was ok to have itchy heads and a good idea to let mums/dads/guardians know about it.

:ladybug: All children went home with an activity pack, soggy sleeves and DoH guidance on managing head lice outbreaks.
