ContactPoint database Concerns.

This latest news item from OFSTED highlights concerns over the security of personal details which contactpoint will hold on all children in England:

Children and young people voice their concerns over the new ContactPoint database for children in England

I'm not sure how closely ContactPoint have built links with the National Programme but can see enough similarities & stumbling blocks that I have my fingers crossed tightly that they are talking to each other about things !!

ContactPoint is intended to go live next year and gives access to key authorised people who will have the responsibility to update relevant information.

More information on ContactPoint

What are your views on this ?

just learned about this on CAF training and really not sure
depends how secure, who can access and the encryption level!

they were saying that we would not be able to access at home, but have no net at work, so may be just the locality teams that we go to for the info and they would ring back, but not to a mobile! which is all we have or a home number !!

oh well

Sarah do you know if they'll be offering training or a course to let everyone know more indepth as to what it's all about ?
