I'm all for change and investing in the early years....but I do believe that some community sessional settings will no longer be able to keep their heads above water....what happened to choice?...end of rant!:muted: Air x |
Just jumping in on this thread - not even read the orignal article yet, but I just want to add my 'two-pennarth'
I agree the Air.. I think they just want to do away with small sessional care....... afterall it's a lot of govenment expenditure for no return - meaning no taxation of working parents!!! I used to work in full daycare until last year - I now work in a sessional pre-school. The difference is amazing- we have a full house every day ~3 hours max - the children come in happy and go home happy- I'd forgotten what a pleasure it is working with these children. It's a far cry from the full daycare with children often there for 10 hours a day, 51weeks a year!!! we even had one poor child who still came while her parents had a "well earned rest" But the gouvenment prefer this because of the tax returned by the working parents. I think it's the sessional that they should be promoting - encouraging parents to spend more- not less time with their children... Sorry rant over.... suppose I should read OP now... might even find I've got hold of the wrong end of the stick completely!!!! xxx |
