Hi which barriers to communication did you identify and with whom?

organising time to spend with parents?
methods of communication?
opportunities for parents/staff to express concerns, suggest ideas?
translation of newsletters/prospectus into languages other than English?

Were any of the policies and procedures changed because of their identification?

page 32 of this book gives these potential areas of responsibilities (search inside for communication barriers)

Delegation of work
Conducting meetings
Presentations
Supervision & appraisals
Report working
Building the team
Negotiation
Interviewing

pages 42+then looks at communication, practices and the possible barriers that might prevent good relationships from being established and maintained. Consider how that relates to your setting and you should be able to find evidence that removes those barriers xx

have you implement any of the following

picture cards
makaton
feeling board
widgets

these are all good for supporting people with limited communication.
I also have BSL interpreters come in as I have staff who are deaf and that is also a communication barrier

hope this helps
