unit 7 how to make a poster about confidentiality?

Hi I'm currently doing unit 7 cypw level 2 and I have to design a poster about confidentiality whichcan be used in a children's and young person care setting. the poster must:
1. give a description of the term 2confidentiality" as it applies in a child/young persons care setting.
2. describe examples of how to maintain confidentiality in a day to day communication.
3. describe examples of situations where you might need to share confidential information with other professionals or carers of individuals receiving the service.
4. Explain how and when to seek advice about confidentiality and where to go for help.

if anyone could give me some advice I would be very greatful

Hi, the preview on amazon will help with this, search inside for the word confidentiality. Your setting or placements policies and procedures will also be a great help, just ask them :) xx

1. give a description of the term confidentiality" as it applies in a child/young persons care setting.

Page 21: Confidentiality means that as a practitioner, you have a duty to:
  • keep certain information confined to agreed people only
  • respect this confidentiality
  • respect each individual's privacy
2. describe examples of how to maintain confidentiality in a day to day communication.

Page 22 looks at daily practice where confidentiality applies eg. keeping developmental records stored away from general view, keeping personal files in locked cabinets, ensuring parents only have access to their own child's records, making sure conversations take place in appropriate places and only sharing information with appropriate people.

Were you asked to sign a confidentiality agreement when you began working at your setting? What does it say.

3. describe examples of situations where you might need to share confidential information with other professionals or carers of individuals receiving the service.

  • if a child needs additional support from other professionals
  • if a child is suspected to be in a situation that risks their safety
  • if an adult has disclosed information that may raise concerns over their ability to carry out daily duties in your setting
  • if an outside body such as Ofsted requests to see an adult's or child's records
4. Explain how and when to seek advice about confidentiality and where to go for help.

If you are ever in doubt about an issue that is confidential, always seek the advice of your line manager. This is particularly relevant if someone has asked you to keep a confidence in the workplace and you are worried about the information you have been given. Always do this is an area where nobody can overhear what you are saying. It is better to seek advice verbally rather than using communication such as email, which other adults could access.
