Observation
Hi guys,
I have on observation with my tutor on Friday and we don't really have many children in the nursery currently, the observation is supposed to be holistic so has anybody got any ideas that I could do on Friday? Thanks! |
Hi a warm welcome to the site. Do you know what criteria you're meant to be covering?
|
Hi,
The criteria is EYE level 3 but I'm not sure about the specifics as she didn't say. I think it's just a general observation to sign stuff off? |
Hi, the criteria is the stuff she'll be signing off and EYE level 3 is your course name xx
You can observe a single child, pair or group whilst they're taking part in any activity - roleplay area, book corner or building with blocks, but it will be most helpful if you ask your tutor what type of activity would make sure the criteria gets signed off. Use your knowledge of the children's interests (dinosaurs? cars? mirrors? repeating activities?) for a general observation, ideas could include you setting up equipment in a sand or water tray eg. small world animals frozen in ice, scoops, cups and pirate treasure. Painting fir cones, cutting craft stems to make the legs for playdough spiders. These would be good for observing language, numbers, social development and physical coordination, fine motor skills. Hope this helps a little xx |
