CYP 3.3 6.2 Example to support resilience in children and young people
Hiya so far I've found all the assistance I needed through older threads but this time I've come short. I need to provide what the title says but at the moment I can't think of anything at all, save encouraging a child to carry on playing chase even if they've been It for three rounds, which sounds pathetic to me and also I can't develop it into a proper paragraph. Please help me!

Hi a warm welcome in! :) I liken resilience a little to the trauma inducing Chicken Licken story :D (as a child it truly didn't help knowing the sky wasn't really falling in when there's a beloved book character running around in a panic saying it was!)
Bumps and scrapes, nettle stings and scratches, minibeast & animal encounters are a possible example of times young children's resilience is tested. Fear, anxiety & alarm from the carer wouldn't support their resilience. Other occasions could be when a toy is taken away from a child without their permission and how that situation is managed. Bullying and transitional times such as family changes - bereavement, parents separating, new adults, siblings, change of setting or moving home. http://www.handsonscotland.co.uk/flo...esilience.html CYP3.3 pages 109+ of the CYPW level 3 handbook on amazon.co.uk Hope this helps a little xx |
That's fantastic, thank you! From the examples you've given, it seems that I've already been supporting resilience in my nieces, without even knowing it!
