Jen we were asked to answer "Can you name any Government policies that have recently changed that will affect the way your school operates?" in order to cover this I did
Universal infant free school meals (UIFSM).
The Children and Families Act 2014 places a legal duty on all state-funded schools in England to offer free school meals to every pupil in reception, year 1 and year 2 from September 2014. The government provides the funding for these meals and also made funding available for improvement of kitchen and dining areas to help schools accommodate UIFSM.
and then explained the implications for schools eg if children get good nutrition they should concentrate & work better, schools may have needed to
make alterations to their kitchens which means disruption etc.
Hope that helps :)
