Hi, the HSE have good reading for managing risk - identifying the risk, who is at danger from it, what can be done about it, when that will happen and who will be in charge or responsible for it.

Ask your setting/placement what methods, reporting risks, daily checks, information sharing, checklists and documents they use to ensure the inside and outside is safe, and how they make sure children are going to be safe when away from the setting on a trip/outing or visit eg. contact numbers, parental permission, supervision and staff ratios, head counts, transport.

Page 114 of the Early Years Educator work-based learner handbook is good reading.

Have you looked at your home nations framework for what it states must be done to identify and manage risk? england EYFS

Best wishes
