Activity stickers
 

I was wondering if anyone uses stickers as a way of communicating with parents ?

The same dilema crops up again where the parents love seeing what their children have been up to in Playgroup ~ with, wherever possible a piece of 'art work.. it's natural and should be encouraged, as it bonds parent, child and setting but with preschools concentrating greatly on free flow and open choice activities we know it isnt always appropriate to have the children do activities just for something to show ..

However this is also true of Primary school ~ it's like trying to wring out a dry sponge when asking my Ds about his day at school :D lol ..

BUT he came home with the good old ':wide-eyed' bumped head sticker one day and it opened up / reminded him of so much that had happened we had our best 'school chat ever !!!

So was thinking along the lines of stickers that said

'We played Aeroplanes (etc) today'
'I built with lego at Preschool today' ...

What a fab idea!:idea: It would make life sooo much easier, the usual conversation goes:
"How was school?"
"Ok"
"Did you do anything fun?"
"Dunno"
"What lessons did you have?"
"Can't remember"

I Like that idea!!!! Mind you, with such youngs ones (we have from 2yrs+), they would probably end up in mouths, on the inside of vests, etc!! Great idea for schools though, it would definitely give me an insight into what my son does all day... I get the same sort of responses as Miss Muffet does!!!

I send out a topics list in the newsletter at the beginning of each half term, so the parents have a little idea of what to ask the littlies about... Whether any keep the letters for reference or not, I don't know, but for those that are interested I hope it helps...
