breakfast club planning

Hi all,
I began my breakfast club in June and is growing well.

My question is we have children ranging from 2 yrs to 9 yrs ( we rumour club in the school hall. My EYFS support officer has said I need to include the EYFS in my planning.

To be honest, up to know all we have is a "choosing book' which has photographs of different toys that cover the various sections of the EYFS eg creative, physical social (board games etc) and the 4 children take it in turn each week to choose an activity to use the following week.

I'm just concerned this is not enough. My worry is we are only open 7.45-8.45 (drops off to the school etc) once breakfast has been eaten, when is there time???

Hope you can help

Cheryl

It's hard isn't it, I work in breakfast and after school and although we have to follow EYFS, no one seems to know how much to cover, we have just had Ofsted and they said we are doing too much!, but didn;t give any guidance as to how much/little do.

Breakfast club

I thought eyfs kicked in if you had children for more than an hour and a half. In your planning you will plan healthy breakfast, fun activities in the limited time you have. But I was a childminder and we were told it depended on hours of attendance. :applause:

Thanks.
Thats what I thought.

I do a simple planning sheet each week, just covering basic for the eyfs children.

I have about 18 children a day now, so planning helps with finding the variety of toys helps.
