K4P1032 The type of information that providers may need for continuous professional development

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, not sure if they're meaning how to continue professional development.

Hi, welcome to silkysteps

417 is about how you provide other children's service providers with information that supports their professional development.

The type of information that providers may need for continuous professional development could be ..

Knowledge of places that offer development opportunities:
  • Where to go - name, address, contact details
eg. colleges, universities, training providers, in-house training, workshops, meetings, seminars, conferences, networking opportunities, local interest groups
  • Cost
  • Dates
  • Course titles, theme, topic and content information
If it's about research, curriculum information, diversity, inclusion, culture, partnerships, safeguarding, child protection
  • Who has funding information
  • Means of contacting you to clarify/request additional information and where permission is given, for you to contact them - email, mail, phone, text, visits
  • Ways to identify continuous development needs that supports you in meeting those needs ..
    • A provider's AGM
    • Ofsted SEF
    • Setting evaluation
    • When service providers review their policies, procedures, publically available literature
    • Colleagues own CPD portfolios
    • Appraisal system
  • Your own approach to supporting their CPD - do you look for new book titles, releases to support research, know who to ask about loan schemes, recommend publications to subscribe to - LA community magazines, sector magazines, website addresses. Do you collect business cards, leaflets, pamphlets and share/pass them on to support and develop providers professional knowledge. Are you in contact with any charities or support groups that provide services, awareness, initiatives and resources to others.
I hope this has helped, best wishes with your remaining study and please enjoy the site :)
