Time management

What tips and tricks do you have to keep a day ticking by 'calmly :D

Do you have a set agenda.. breakfast, nap, lunch etc .. or let things take their own course ...?

we have an agenda, that can be a pain if it changes - personally that it. hubby has a head injury and cant deal with a lot of changes once the day is planned out! can be fun if something unavoidable happens. we tend to discuss the next day the night before so he knows what he is up to

at work, we have a daily routine that is set down, free play, snack, outside, story, free play, songs etc
but this can vary due to weather and children factors. but we do try to mot vary too much! as the children dont always like this

Things like the school/prescool runs are fixed but otherwise I try and fit in with individual childrens routines that they have at home as much as I can, it can be a little tricky when new children start and the routine has to change but it usually setles down quickly. The children and parents definitely seem to prefer a "framework" for the day so that they know what to expect and when but within that I ensure lots of flexiblity to cater for differing moods/needs and spontaneity.
