BookReview: Q Pootle 5 ~ Nick Butterworth

Book Review and early learning play ideas ..

I didn't even know this book existed until we came across it in our local WHSmiths today ... it is very cute :cheerful:

Q Pootle 5 is an Alien .. he teams up with his friend Oopsy and together they set off into space ...

There are some nice 'inside previews of these books and reader reviews on Amazon... I didn't dare write too many notes in whsmiths :D lol

*************************

Activities using Q Pootle 5 as the base character .....
  • See if the children can draw their own Q Pootle 5 - give them the story book to look at and copy from ~ Supply greens, yellow, grey & cream paper + collage materials.
  • Build junk modeling spaceships for him.
  • Turn your wall display area into a 'craggy moon surface...
  • String christmas fairy lights around (please ensure all safety elements are complied with ) to resemble the Spaceships take off lights.
  • Use playdough as moon rock modelling and create your own lunar space stations !

I've just discovered Q Pootle 5 - I think he's fab! He actually featured briefly in another book (I forget the title - I'll find it...) and I've been meaning to look for him for a few days now, so thanks Ruthierhyme! :cheerful:
