Watson's theory

How is whatson's theory related in today's world and settings?

I understand that his theory was behaviourism and that fears are learnt and not passed down this was shown by the "Little Albert " By inducing a fear to a child which he induced a fear of furry things and white things.

But what I am struggling with is how does that go with what we do today in setting's etc.
