additional units avail for those currently finished old level 4

Hi there

i hope tutu reads this and can throw some light on this

i have hjust heard that the level 4 is no longer that had i started the ccld level 4 this year it would actually be a level 5

ie from level 3 to level 5 ludicous i feel as i know many who are not experienced at level 3

it should be at least two years carrying out level 3 before progression onto level 4 neither lone level 5

anyway off my soapbox.

The point is guys i have been told that you can do additional units to supplement your existing level 4 and hence qualify at level 5 and that these units are also funable

any one throw some light on this - hope it make sense

this sounds like a great idea, as for exeperiance of doing my first year of foundation degree this would be an easy fast track to doin a higher level 6 qualification. I found foundation degree very much based on theory and not much to do with what we actually do in practice. Keep us up dated if you find out anymore

The level 5 CCLD Diploma
This diploma is a replacement for the Level 4 NVQ in CCLD. It is suitable for experienced workers and managers who wish to enhance their level of competence. It will provide additional career opportunities and/or progression on to higher education or higher level qualifications.

It will have a basic structure of mandatory and optional units and contain level 4 and level 5 units and some units. It is likely that the rules of combination stipulate that a maximum of 50% of units can be completed at level 4. Some units will be imported from other QCF qualifications. The qualification is expected to be diploma size range of credit.

By reading this it sounds like it is possible.
