i think it depends on what assessor you have, my assessor tends to say the same yes your doing fine. Im the opposite i seem to be writing loads for the knowledge questions in comparision to some of the answers on this site I know tutu will say and quite rightly too, as i have pointed this out to my assessor in the front of your handbook it says the KNOWLEDGE QUESTIONS ARE NOT TO BE USED AS JUST QUESTIONS i know sometimes it feels as though you havent done anything special when your assessor is out assessing through observation, I just did a normal eveyday situation last week and got 2 units passed off through this with all the pcs covered however still hve to do the knowledge bit i personally do not like the NVQ system and much prefered the BTEC ND in Early years . i think with hindsight i should have gone for the Foundation Degree but it was the only free course available to me and i was led to believe it would enable me to go in at 2yr of foundation degree. however think this has all changed now as the level 4 has changed , i still think its sad though that it is really questioning your expertise. i have a level 3 working with me and she doesnt know a thing or at least she make us all think that. She has said herself its only a way of getting more money !!! i think there needs to be a serious look at the courses on offer and a time limit between doing each level as some seem to do a very fast track system and no time to put into practice their knowledge Anyway glad you found us all on this site, we are a friendly bunch, willing to help each other out. good luck with it |
Thanks, my assessor seems quite laid back, she has said we can print evidence out and highlight, does yours. x

I can second that . One of my colleagues was told the same thing. To highlight direct quotes from Theorists. One it was sent to External Verifiers it was all returned to her as unacceptable... Much better to read it through and then summarise the information and theories and how it applies to your work practice.

i agree with ray and tutu's copy but it does make me mad that assessors are going about this in many different ways.
i would very much like to train to be a assessor, dont know where to start, but i think there has to be a set standard what happens if the internal verify passes something off where you have used quotes and then it goes to the external verifier and they pull it apart who is right and why arent they both using the same song book so to speak |
