1st assignment of nvq2 and stuck

hello everyone, what a great website. i have just begun my nvq 2 and cannot believe i am actually stuck on my 1st assignment. :fryingpan i have graphed how children develop from birth to 19 years covering physical, communication and intellectual, social, emotional and behavioral.
i am stuck on - describing with examples how different aspects of dev can affect one another, could someone please give me a nudge in the right direction, any thoughts would be much appreciated, thanks billybob

My thought - if a child has not reached the expected level of development for their age in communication they may not be able to express their needs/wants to others. This may have an impact on their emotional and behavioural development as they may suffer low self-confidence and esteem which leads to unwanted behaviour.

Hi billybob,

I would say that you need to be thinking of Holistic development which is basically where each area of development (physical, social & emotional, cognitive etc) needs the other in order for the child to develop to their full potential.

So for example a child who cannot sit up, turn pages of a book or have the language development to decode the text will not be able to read a book.

Think of develpment as a whole.

Hope this helps a bit.
