Hi, you need to think about what is important to you and how it could affect you at work for exaple you may think its wrong for children to be given a vegetarian diet or if you were brought up to say please & thank you you may think its wrong for parents not to encourage that.

The difficulty you may experience is that you don't understand why some people or cultures have a preferred way of living or different religious beliefs. You may have irrational fears or unacceptance of others; therefore it is imperative that you always remain non judgemental and non bias, to accept, respect and value people for who and what they are, not driscriminate, nor allow others to do so in your setting.

You ensure that everyone is accepted/included by way of educating, celebrating and sharing others cultures and festivals, providing or going on courses and ensuring that your setting has policies and procedures to ensure that you understand and do not find yourself having difficulties of examing beliefs, values and feelings of others.

If you did have difficulties not understanding a child's and her/his family's beliefs, you may not treat them as you should - as an equal and remembering the child's rights.
